While perfecting the art of the layup in the pool, we began to see a pattern of wet ball marks on the backboard and they WEREN'T in the center of the "Square"

With all ideas, write them down, email them to yourself, come back and study further! 9months passed before the birth of the idea and the serious push to bring to market.

Come to find out, bank shots are ~20% more effective than the swish in all but 3 areas on the court(2 baselines and straight). Thanks for NC State for this incredible research

Based on the research, it proved that the square wasn't the ideal aiming/contact point for a bank shot. But what is? What would actually work AND appeal to Ballerz worldwide?

With the aid of a protractor, ruler and some math skillz, the iterations began. 3 designs later, viola-the "double diamond" concept was born

Time to put it to the test! With some blue painters tape and design in hand, the FIRST mockup was perfected. Hours upon hours of hooping from all angles, all heights and all spin types and BOOM, it actually WORKED!

The future of backboard technology & design was in front of us without a way to put it to use. A few nights sleep and "Ballerz in Training" was born-a way to transition from a training program to new backboard design worldwide

Turns out a 5 year old and my novice baller wife were great beta testers. "Hit the green" and you make the bankshot. Seriously, at this point, it turned from a fun backyard math project to, "this is going global"
